Management of Scientific Projects - all except 081 “Law”
The purpose of the courseis to master methodological tools for preparing project proposals and grant applications; acquiring skills in attracting funding sources; forming interdisciplinary project teams; implementing effective project management; and promoting academic mobility of researchers.
The objectives (learning goals) of the courseare to develop comprehensive knowledge and professional practices for PhD students necessary for managing scientific projects by acquiring program competencies in research, innovation, and project activities; mastering methodological tools for developing, financing, and implementing scientific projects, programs, and grants in the field of economics.
The subject of the courseis the theory, methods, and applied tools for conducting economic research in the field of economics and entrepreneurship.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of studying the course, the student should:
Know / Knowledge:
- Possess knowledge of creative thinking tools and the basics of project management;
- Have the ability to master technologies for justifying project proposals and grant applications within educational and scientific grant systems at national and international levels;
- Be able to form an understanding of the criteria for evaluating project activities, commercializing scientific creativity results, and developing opportunities for integrating PhD students into the global scientific community;
- Be capable of selecting financing tools for scientific projects depending on the specifics of the research.
Be able to / Skills:
- Apply modern methods of academic writing in scientific work while adhering to principles of academic integrity;
- Present scientific results in Ukrainian and English in project proposals and grant applications;
- Interpret scientific research results within the selected areas of project activity;
- Develop application forms (proposals) for scientific projects, define their purpose, goals, and expected outcomes;
- Calculate the budget of investment resources for the implementation of scientific projects;
- Organize the funding process for scientific projects and determine the optimal structure of funding sources;
- Apply effective tools and measures for managing risks in scientific projects.
Communication:
- Communicate with various target audiences regarding the preparation of project proposals and grant applications for conducting scientific research in Ukrainian and English;
- Efficiently manage personal time for project activities, adhering to established regulations for the completion of individual project stages;
- Utilize modern information and communication technologies to justify project proposals and grant applications;
- Be capable of working in an international environment, applying management skills in scientific project financing, and clearly and unambiguously conveying conclusions, knowledge, and explanations to both specialists and non-specialists.
Autonomy and Responsibility:
- Demonstrate authority, creativity, a high degree of self-learning and self-realization, academic integrity, and a consistent commitment to developing new ideas in advanced scientific contexts;
- Be capable of independent and critical thinking, formulating ideas, and generating hypotheses;
- Demonstrate understanding of personal responsibility for professional and/or managerial decisions or provided proposals/recommendations that may affect the results of a scientific project as a whole or its individual components;
- Be capable of independently conducting research within scientific projects.
