Abstract of the academic discipline

"Economics of rural areas and communities"

Recommended for applicants to the second (master's) level of higher education

The purpose of studying the discipline: to form a system of knowledge regarding the study by students of the theoretical and practical principles of managing the development of rural communities and involving broad segments of society in this process through the implementation of progressive approaches to the development of rural areas and communities.

Interdisciplinary connections.The discipline "Economics of Rural Territories and Communities" is a selective component for the formation of the ability to effectively operate, necessary for future specialists in the functioning of local self-government bodies, and has interdisciplinary connections with the vast majority of disciplines, in particular "Managerial Economics", "Agrarian Policy", "Economics and Organization of Agricultural Trading", "Agricultural Production Technologies".

decentralization processes and the foundations of land relations;

development of rural areas and communities based on the LEADER approach.

to search for effective instruments of influence on the land market in order to increase the economic efficiency of agricultural production; to substantiate the economic feasibility and effectiveness of innovations in agriculture, to formulate and implement a strategy based on the LEADER approach;

analyze and assess the state and trends of agrarian policy development in Ukraine; assess the level of state support for agriculture and rural communities; develop, formulate and justify appropriate measures to support the agricultural sector (production, communities, territories);

analyze the communication work of the LAG: external networks and research; professional organizations and associations representing the interests of farmers and agro-microenterprises; organizations providing services to the population; citizens and local citizens' organizations; law enforcement associations; local authorities and institutions.
