ANNOTATION OF THE ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE

"Entrepreneurship"

Recommended for applicants of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in the educational and professional program "Management of the social sphere"

1.     The goal of mastering the academic discipline

The purpose of the disciplineis to form a system of knowledge about the essence of entrepreneurship as a special type of activity, a certain style and type of behaviour that determines the business culture of the enterprise, the modern form of management of industrial and commercial structures in a market economy; acquisition of practical skills of complex perception and solution of problems arising in the activities of entrepreneurial structures to create a favourable business environment and increase the efficiency of production and economic systems.

Interdisciplinary links: prerequisites and post-requisites. The interdisciplinary links of the discipline ‘Entrepreneurship’are determined by the peculiarities of training applicants for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in the EPP ‘Management of the social sphere’, Programme Subject Area 073 ‘Management’. The discipline integrates a large number of basic concepts and techniques of general theoretical disciplines, is based on the theoretical foundation of entrepreneurship and methodological provisions of related economic disciplines.

Prerequisites:the discipline is based on the knowledge and competences acquired by the higher education student in the course of studying the following disciplines: ‘Philosophy, Applied Informatics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Statistics.

Post-requisites:As a result of studying the discipline, the necessary competence base will be formed for mastering such disciplines as Management, Marketing, International Economics, Enterprise Finance, Human Resources Management, Training Course ‘Organisation of Labour in the Social Sphere’, Management of the Social Sphere, Management of Social and Labour Relations and others. The knowledge of the discipline ‘Entrepreneurship’ can be used when writing a bachelor's thesis.

Developing practical teamwork skills in students, namely:
