Learning Objectives

The objective of the course isthe formation of market-oriented economic outlook of the future social production participant, that capable in professional work as economist, manager or independent business activity, as well as mastering students’ knowledge of the principles and methods of optimal economic decisions for existing limited resources and alternatives for their use.

Tasksof the course:provide knowledge about basic theoretical concepts of microeconomics and explanations on the basis of internal connections and relationships between economic phenomena; develop skills of using tools of microeconomic analysis; preparation for the study of advanced courses in microeconomics and in applied disciplines, based on microeconomic theory.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the requirements for this course, students will be able to:

•identify and interpret the incentive motives of activity and decision-making by economic agents at the micro level of market system;

•analyze functional relationships between key economic parameters of theoretical models and identify expected outcomes of decisions made by economic actors in different market situations;

• use tools of microeconomic analysis to assess the rationality of selection decisions of microsystems and optimization their behavior;

•apply techniques of microeconomic research to explain phenomena and analyze the results of economic systems activity.
