Social and Economic Systems Research Paradigms

The course "Paradigms of research of socio-economic systems" is major within the PhD program 051 "Economics".

It researches:

- paradigms of the global socio-economic system formation;

- genesis of public administration and national economy analysis paradigms, including general characteristics and critical comparison of views, concepts, models and tools;

- conceptual genesis and methodological paradigms of regional and spatial development;

- general characteristics of the problem field of scientific research of enterprise economics and business management.

 

The aim of the course - mastery of methods, tools and practical skills of social and economic systems  research  at different levels of localization: global, national, subnational, business entity.

Learning objectives of the course: knowledge and research skills  of paradigmatic analysis in the field of national economy and public administration, regional and spatial development in models of economic growth, international regional economic integration, polarization, sustainable development and others, as well as economics and management of microeconomic systems (enterprises).

The subject of the discipline are paradigms, theories and concepts of social and economic systems at different levels (global, national, regional, enterprise), economic processes research paradigms and phenomena in (socio-economic) micro, meso-macrosystems and in the global dimension.

Learning outcomes:

After taking the course student must

know / knowledge:

- conceptual and methodological knowledge in the field or on the border of fields of knowledge or professional activity;

be able / skills:

- specialized skills and techniques forsignificant problems solvationin the field of professional activity, science and / or innovation, expansion and reassessment of existing knowledge and professional practice

- initiating, planning, implementing and adjusting a consistent process of thorough research with due academic integrity

- critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas

communication:

- fluentcommunication on issues related to the field of scientific and expert knowledge with colleagues, the wider scientific community, society as a whole

- use of academic Ukrainian and foreign languages in professional activities and research

autonomy and responsibility:

- demonstration of significant authority, innovation, high degree of independence, academic and professional integrity, consistent commitment to the development of new ideas or processes in the advanced contexts of professional and scientific activities

 Acquired competencies can be implemented in the social and economic systems and processes research at different levels of localization: global, national, subnational, business entity.
